Please read this section carefully, because (as those automated phone menus always tell us), our contact information has recently changed.

Queries and Submissions
Yes, we do accept articles from freelancers (and we accept them from freelancers around the world). Please review our Submission Guidelines for details, payment rates, etc.

Advertising
If you would like to advertise on Writing-World.com, we offer four options: Our website side buttons, our top-of-the-page rotating banner, our newsletter, and our Author's Bookshelf section. With the exception of the Author's Bookshelf, we only accept ads for products or services of benefit to writers. For details, please see our Ad Rates and Policies.

Link Requests
We would be happy to consider linking to your site. We do have a few criteria, however. Your site must be relevant to writing, and offer a significant amount of free information for writers. We do not link to individual writers' sites (unless they offer a lot of tips for writers), and we do not link to publications that simply publish writing, poetry, etc.

We also don't play the "I'll link to you if you link to me" game. We welcome your links to our site but do not guarantee that we will provide a link in return. (You do not need to ask us for permission to link to us.) Please send your link requests to Dawn Copeman, Editor. We cannot always respond to link requests.

Our free links are only for free sites and services. If you offer a commercial product or service for writers, please consider Advertising on Writing-World.com.

Newsletter Subscriptions
Writing-World.com offers a free monthly e-mail newsletter; to see back issues, visit our Archive. We are not able to manually process subscription requests, changes of address, or unsubscribe requests. If you wish to subscribe to the newsletter, please simply enter your e-mail into the "subscribe" box in the upper left corner of any page on the site and click "subscribe." If you wish to unsubscribe, enter your e-mail and click "unsubscribe." If you need to change your e-mail address, simply unsubscribe your old address and then subscribe under the new address. (If you do not remove the old address and it bounces, it will be unsubbed automatically.)

You can also subscribe or unsubscribe by e-mail. To subscribe, send a blank e-mail to subscribe-writing-world@v2.listbox.com. To unsubscribe, send a blank e-mail to unsubscribe-writing-world@v2.listbox.com.

Please note that if your e-mail is filtered through a spam-blocking site that requires contacts to enter a secret word, you will probably not receive your newsletter! Automatic replies of this type are automatically filtered out; we don't even receive them, let alone go to the site to put in the magic word. So please be sure to put our newsletter address into the list of "accepted" addresses!

General Questions and Comments
If you have a comment about our website or newsletter, or a general question about writing, please send it to: Moira Allen, Publisher.

Please note that we really can't help you with any of the following:

Where can I find a publisher for my book/article/story?
We can't help you find a publisher, but you can find more information on potential markets in our Links section (check under "guidelines" for articles, "book publishers" for possible places to send your book-length manuscript.)

How can I get started as a writer?
That's a bit complex for an e-mail message, which is why we have an entire, free Basics section that covers this topic. To get started in fiction, see our Fundamentals of Fiction series.

Could you review my article/story/novel/poem?
I'm sorry, but we don't offer reviews or critiques. We recommend that you find an online critique group to help you; see our links to Critique and Discussion Groups.

Did you realize that you have a typo in the fourth paragraph of (insert article name here)?!
Obviously not! We do welcome corrections provided they aren't delivered in the "omigod your typo in paragraph #2 spells the end of Western Civilization" vein. Misteaks happen; we freely admit our imperfexions. We will do our best correct errors that are pointed out to us nicely -- provided you include the URL to the article in which the error occurs! (No, we really aren't going to search 700 articles for a mispelling that you saw somewhere but can't remember where...)

Contest Listings
You can list your writing contest at no charge in our Contest Database. Please see our Contest Submission page for details.

Writers Wanted Listings
Do you need writers, or content, for your publication or organization? Our popular "Writers Wanted" section is back online at last. Just fill out the online form, and appropriate listings will be posted to the "Wanted" section in 3-5 working days. Listings will remain online for 30 days, but you can request the removal of a listing if the job is filled prior to that time. There is no charge to post a listing. For details, go to the
Writers Wanted Post Listing page.
