Following is a list of some of the major pet markets that are open to freelance contributions. This is by no means a complete list, and information on editors, payment rates etc. changes rapidly.
Bow-Tie Publications (formerly Fancy Publications)
Probably the largest publisher of pet magazines in the country, offering a variety of monthly, bimonthly and annual publications. Payment ranges from $150 to $400, sometimes higher with quality photos, depending on the publication. Payment is on publication, and authors have complained about recent contracts.
