Awesome Blogs
Author Blogs
What hooked me about this site was the graphics. Each article is packed with illustrations that help the reader visualize what a great blog can look like (especially the current lead article on travel blogging). There are also loads of useful tips on starting and running a blog, including tips on choosing the right software, what to write about, what to do when you can't think of anything to write about, and so forth. I have no idea who puts this together as there is no "about" section on the site, but it's worth a visit.
Do you have an "awesome blog"? Do you know of one? Let us know; send an e-mail to
Moira Allen, Editor with "Awesome Blog" in the subject line. See our complete list of Awesome Blogs here!

A WRITER'S YEAR 2013! If you keep wondering where your time goes, here's a tool that can help. A Writer's Year is a 365-day planner designed for writers -- not, like most of those expensive planners on the market, for folks who work 8-5. Use it to plan your schedule, organize your tasks, record your achievements, track your goals and progress, and keep track of important deadlines. Each week opens with a place to list your priorities and upcoming deadlines, and ends with an inspirational quote about writing. Each day, there's space to make note of your achievements, tasks completed, and progress.
And, once again, it's FREE! You can download the planner in PDF or Excel format, along with a submission tracker. Or, get a spiral-bound hardcopy from Lulu.com.
If you liked last year's format better, don't worry -- I made one in that format as well. (The "classic" version is only available electronically.) Just right-click one of the links below to get your copy.

BACK FOR 2013: A Writer's Year! If you keep wondering where your time goes, here's a tool that can help. And, once again, it's FREE! You can download the planner in PDF or Excel format, along with a submission tracker. Or, get a spiral-bound hardcopy from Lulu.com.
I've made some changes in the 2013 edition, to streamline it a bit so that it isn't as bulky and cumbersome (and expensive to print) as last year's edition. Days are now divided into half-hour segments instead of quarter-hour segments. However, if you liked last year's format better, don't worry -- I made one in that format as well. (The "classic" version is only available electronically.)
